Bodycam footage of Tiger Woods’ car accident made public

Tiger Woods taken into custody for DUI after crashing with pills in his pocket

Tiger Woods Involved in Car Crash Following Arrest

Recently released body camera footage reveals Tiger Woods’ car crash in Florida from last week, just moments after he was detained for suspected drunk driving.

Woods was part of a two-vehicle incident that caused his car to roll onto its side, and he had to make his way out through the passenger door.

In the footage, he is shown kneeling and explaining to an officer, “I’m looking down at my phone and all of a sudden, boom.”

The officer comforted Woods and a medic informed him that he would be examined. The officer remarked that he didn’t feel anything amiss with Woods’ back. Witnesses reported that Woods “hit the trailer.” The officer then checked on the other driver who assured them he was fine.

The other driver mentioned, “He was preparing to turn around and coming in a hurry. I don’t think he was looking, that was the problem.” According to this driver, Woods collided with a trailer attached to another vehicle.

As for the police findings, they indicated that Woods displayed signs of impairment, leading to his arrest on DUI charges. Interestingly, Woods blew “triple zero” on the breathalyzer test, yet police discovered two hydrocodone tablets in his possession.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith harshly criticized Woods after the DUI incident, stating he was fortunate that no one was harmed.

Woods, a 15-time major champion, announced earlier in the week that he would seek medical treatment following the crash. In a social media statement, he expressed, “I am aware and understand the seriousness of the situation I find myself in today. Taking time away to receive treatment is essential for my health and recovery.” He added that he aims to return stronger and focused, both personally and professionally, while also requesting privacy for his loved ones.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to the DUI charges and faces additional charges, including criminal damage to property and refusal to submit to an inspection.

The crash occurred just after Woods re-entered competitive golf following an Achilles tendon injury and just days prior to the Masters, a tournament he will now miss. His status for playing before the accident was already uncertain.
