White House press secretary Caroline Levitt recently shared her thoughts on former President Joe Biden, criticizing his approach while indicating that her predecessor, Karine Jean-Pierre, faced challenges in her role.

During a discussion with Turning Point USA CEO Erica Kirk, Levitt expressed gratitude toward President Trump for being straightforward and accessible, a stark contrast to Biden, which she believes hindered Jean-Pierre’s effectiveness.

“He just lays everything out there,” Levitt remarked about working with Trump at an event at George Washington University. “There’s no ambiguity. No spin. Just facts.”

She noted that due to this straightforwardness, she found it easier to communicate compared to Jean-Pierre, who sometimes struggled to convey information due to a lack of direct communication with her boss.

Jean-Pierre, who took over from Jen Psaki in 2022, was often criticized for being unprepared during press briefings, providing insufficient information while sticking to prepared statements.

Reports had indicated that many in the West Wing viewed her as lacking competence, with even senior aides attempting to convince her to step down at the end of 2023.

Last year, Jean-Pierre, who had staunchly defended Biden, stated that she no longer identified as a Democrat, citing the party’s treatment of him.

She admitted in testimony before the House Oversight Committee that she received talking points regarding Biden’s health and mental fitness from various advisors.

Biden was known for rarely granting interviews or answering questions, often shielded by a tight circle of close advisors, as noted in the book “Original Sin.”

In contrast, Trump frequently entertains questions from reporters and takes unexpected calls, which Levitt finds beneficial.

“His openness is refreshing for not just me and the West Wing staff, but for the American people and the media,” she emphasized.

She added, “What he says reflects his true feelings. There’s no need for second-guessing—his honesty makes my job much easier. It’s one of the aspects I truly appreciate about this role.”
