Nasa’s Historic Moon Mission
On April 1, NASA launched the Orion spacecraft from Kennedy Space Center, marking the first manned voyage to the moon in over half a century.
This event sparked a variety of reactions; many viewed it as a monumental achievement, while others criticized it as an extravagant use of resources, pushing the limits of what we should attempt.
Glenn Beck expressed, “Many people argued against it, stating, ‘Space is a waste of money. It’s like our Tower of Babel, trying to uplift ourselves.'”
Yet, he sees things differently. “I prefer to view it through the lens of exploration. I believe that God encourages us to explore.”
In a recent episode of “The Glenn Beck Program,” he engaged in conversation with Christian astrophysicist Hugh Ross concerning the moral implications of space exploration from a Biblical standpoint and addressing conspiracy theories about the moon landing.
Ross supports Glenn’s viewpoint, asserting that space exploration does not overstep divine boundaries. “Curiosity is a gift from God… I think He wants us to discover, but to do so in a responsible way,” he shared.
The discussion later shifted to conspiracy theories surrounding the 1969 moon landing, where astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were broadcasted as they walked on the moon.
Many skeptics question the authenticity of this landmark event. “Some even suggest we weren’t the first to go there. Is it possible we never reached the moon? Does it even matter?” Glenn questioned Ross.
Ross recounted, “I witnessed the moon landing live on television as a child. It was thrilling to see Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong installing laser reflectors.”
He noted, “Today, three laser reflectors remain on the moon. These allow physicists to conduct daily tests of gravitational theories, something unprecedented thanks to the Apollo astronauts’ work.”
Moreover, the traces left by the astronauts are still present. “The vehicles they left are frequently photographed,” he added.
Glenn likened those who dismiss the moon landing to individuals who question the historicity of the Flood mentioned in Genesis.
However, Ross has dedicated years to collecting scientific and Biblical support for his ideas. His recent book, “Noah’s Flood Revisited,” presents his perspective that the Flood really did happen, though not necessarily in the traditional interpretations.
