Joe Scarborough Reacts Strongly to Trump Threatening Iran on Easter Sunday

Scarborough Criticizes Trump’s Threats to Iran

On Monday, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough strongly condemned President Donald Trump’s “despicable” and “outrageous” threats aimed at Iran following a U.S. fighter jet crew’s rescue operation on Easter Sunday.

After the successful mission, Trump took to Truth Social, warning Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz or face severe consequences. His message, which included explicit language, ignited considerable debate online and on television. Scarborough voiced his criticism multiple times during “Morning Joe.”

“Any previous president, whether it was Joe Biden, Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, or Trump, making such a statement would have sent shockwaves through Washington,” Scarborough asserted. “The lack of response to this shows just how desensitized both the Republican Party and many media members have become to outrageous comments. That was quite an Easter morning post.”

He further remarked, “This is a major holiday for Christians worldwide, and the wording used was frankly insulting to evangelicals backing a president whose values often clash with theirs.” Scarborough also emphasized that Trump’s remarks insulted Muslims globally, which is counterproductive in maintaining relations with Iranians who have historically looked to the U.S. for support.

At one point in the segment, Scarborough noted that Trump’s posts seem to reveal his frustration with Iran’s persistent defiance in the ongoing conflict, saying, “Maybe we’re witnessing some irritation from Trump with that vile language that offends both Muslims and a considerable number of Christians.”

In his post, President Trump threatened military action against Iranian infrastructure if the Strait of Hormuz was not reopened, declaring, “Tuesday is Power Plant Day and Bridge Day rolled into one in Iran. There’s no better day than this!!! Open the straits, you crazy bastards, or you’ll live in hell – look! Praise be to Allah.”

Meanwhile, reports indicate that Pakistan has proposed a peace plan to both the U.S. and Iran.
