A group of clumsy clowns, including a well-known YouTuber, got arrested at a crowded movie theater in Canada after they yelled about someone having a gun, seemingly to gain attention on social media, as reported by police and shown in videos.
On March 17, Fike Wamiku Ayub, 23, Jayden Joseph-Anthony Mosquera, 23, and a 17-year-old whose identity isn’t revealed were taken into custody at Landmark Cinemas in Whitby, Ontario, following a call about an armed individual, as stated by Durham Regional Police on Tuesday.
Recently, Ayub, or Fik, who has 1.27 million subscribers, created a controversial video featuring himself and some friends entering the cinema and yelling various inappropriate remarks.
During one moment, they burst into the theater shouting, “He’s got a gun!” at the top of their lungs. After exiting briefly to take photos with fans, Ayub exclaimed, “You’re not joking, I have a gun!” This clip has since garnered over 660,000 views.
They continued to disrupt the venue, charging in again and alarming everyone with another shout, “The man who came in has a gun!”
According to police, this prompted a mass exodus, as several patrons rushed out in fear while others shouted, “Someone has a firearm.”
When Ayub spotted a boy approaching him, he claimed, “Everyone, you have to go. You’re going to be arrested.”
The theater staff repeatedly asked them to stop filming, but Ayub, mocking with fake accents, ignored the requests and ended up being hit with an inhaler.
As they left, several police cars arrived. An officer confronted Ayub and his friend, informing them they received reports of a possible armed individual.
In response, Ayub, speaking in a fake accent, insisted, “Guns, guns, no, no, no, we’re just doing a little documentary. We’re vlogging. We’re literally going to the movies. We’re not saying guns. I see everyone coming…I’m getting a little scared.”
Authorities were aware of a film crew performing stunts in the area and asked for identification from Ayub and his companions.
Investigators later determined that the group had intentionally staged the gun scare to incite panic among moviegoers, aiming to capture content for social media posts.
All three were charged with causing a disturbance and mischief but were released shortly after. Ayub has not yet responded to requests for comments.
No injuries occurred, but police are urging anyone with video evidence of the incident to reach out.
