Texas Teens Charged with Kidnapping and Torturing Classmate

In Texas, four teenagers are facing charges of kidnapping and torturing a fellow high school student after a dispute related to a girl. Police records reveal that all suspects are 17 years old and have been identified as Jose Rojas Alvarado, Oscar Armando Santiago Martinez, Angel Remus Perez, and Carlos Roberto Oliva Villeda.

The affidavit reports that the suspects threatened to kill the victim and harm his loved ones if he reported the incident to law enforcement. They have been charged with aggravated kidnapping with a deadly weapon and engaging in organized criminal activity, both classified as first-degree felonies.

According to an arrest warrant, the incident occurred on February 19 when the victim left Del Valle High School with three of the suspects, supposedly to buy food. However, instead of heading to a restaurant, they drove to Rojas-Alvarado’s home, which the victim was familiar with.

During a conversation lasting approximately an hour and a half in the garage, the victim was ordered to sit in a chair, where his hands and feet were restrained with duct tape. One of the suspects returned with a gun, allegedly holding it to the victim’s head while the others began to tape him more securely to the chair.

The affidavit describes how the suspects took turns hitting the victim with various objects, including a baseball bat and a cane, while one displayed a firearm. Additionally, one suspect reportedly heated a box cutter with a lighter and pressed it against the victim’s chest, while another forced him to drink alcohol, threatening further harm if he refused.

Rojas-Alvarado allegedly brandished a chainsaw and a machete during the ordeal, threatening to maim the victim, though he was unable to start the chainsaw. The affidavit states that the victim was attacked for talking to Rojas-Alvarado’s girlfriend, with the latter demanding he stay away from her.

The suspects went so far as to delete contact information from the victim’s phone, disconnecting him from any support. Eventually, they removed the victim from the chair and transported him to an undisclosed location.

After obtaining a search warrant, police discovered evidence at Rojas-Alvarado’s home that corroborated the victim’s claims. Medical evaluations revealed signs consistent with blunt force trauma, along with other marks on the victim’s body. During follow-up interrogations, some of the suspects confessed to planning the incident ahead of time and revealed details of the confrontation, including assaulting the victim.

Del Valle Independent School District issued a statement acknowledging the situation and affirming that the safety of students is a priority. They mentioned that the incident is under investigation.

A student at Del Valle High School expressed disbelief at the occurrence. “I thought it was insane, especially at our school,” he remarked, noting the courage it takes to report such incidents. The investigation is still ongoing, with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office yet to provide further comments.
