Nurse Fired for Anti-Semitic Remarks Had Anti-American History

A nurse dismissed for her anti-Semitic comments in Times Square had previously visited Iran, condemning the U.S. as, in her words, “the most criminal and evil entity on the planet.”

In a video from July 17, 2025, Jennifer Koonings, wearing a scarf, strolls through New York City, noting what she sees as the “beauty” of Iran. This video was shared by the Sobu Festival, an account often associated with Iranian state media.

Koonings made this trip shortly after the U.S. conducted bombings on Iranian nuclear sites in Isfahan and Fordow. In her remarks, she criticized the U.S. while exaggerating the crimes of the Iranian government, which had resulted in the deaths of over 35,000 citizens during protests earlier that year.

She reflects discontentedly on living in America, saying, “In the U.S., we’re bombarded with negative propaganda about places like Iran…I live in New York City, yet the roads are terrible, there are potholes, broken bridges, and failing public services.”

This week, Koonings was fired from her position at Inspire Mental Health Services in Manhattan after she shared multiple inflammatory videos on Instagram, where she confronted individuals she believed were Israelis in Times Square, yelling accusations like “Baby killer!” at them.

In another video, she spoke on behalf of Americans, stating that they do not support the military, which she’s criticized numerous times. Koonings also claimed she lost her job as a sexual assault forensic doctor at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2024 due to her controversial social media activities, where she denied allegations of sexual assaults by Hamas following their October 7, 2023, attack on Israel. However, Mount Sinai has not commented on her claims.

She asserted that the New York District Attorney’s office let her go because her views made her unfit as an expert witness. In a December 2024 Instagram post, she conveyed frustration, stating, “They said I lacked credibility as a forensic examiner due to the video I shared.”

Though unreachable for further comment, Koonings continues to propagate her views to 144,000 Instagram followers, insisting, “When we say we do not support the U.S. military, let me clarify this: Why do we support it? We do not endorse a genocidal army led by a raging alcoholic,” referring specifically to Army Secretary Pete Hegseth.
