Protesters against ICE stage explicit demonstration in downtown LA

On Saturday, protesters opposing ICE took a rather unconventional approach, using sex toys as part of a demonstration at a federal detention center in downtown Los Angeles. They threw these items over a security fence, making their stance clear against immigration officials.

This chaotic event unfolded around 12:30 p.m. along Alameda Street, prompting a swift response from the police.

Authorities indicated that the protest was unauthorized, leading to significant traffic disruptions between Aliso and Temple streets. Reports suggested that the situation quickly got out of hand, with demonstrators using explicit objects to target law enforcement vehicles while brandishing anti-ICE signage.

A video shared online showcased dynamic scenes of protesters pinning adult toys to barriers and chanting near the facility’s entrance, while police officers maintained a nearby watch.

Some reports mentioned that the sex toys involved in the protest originated from Minneapolis—a city known for recent protests linked to incidents involving ICE operations.

Despite the colorful protest methods, authorities described aspects of the disturbance as criminal activity, prompting the Los Angeles Police Department’s Central Division to declare the gathering an illegal assembly. Orders were given to disperse, and arrests were made.

As police engaged with the situation, road closures extended across various segments of Alameda Street, causing major delays for motorists in the vicinity.
