Christian Pulisic and Alexa Melton’s Breakup Turns Messy

Soccer star Christian Pulisic and his girlfriend, golfer Alexa Melton, have reportedly broken up, and it hasn’t been pretty.

Last year, Pulisic, who captains the U.S. men’s national team, had to deal with gossip about a potential romance with actress Sidney Sweeney. It seems, however, that not everything can be brushed aside.

Melton seemingly suggested that Pulisic wasn’t faithful, although she later seemed to retract those statements.

In an Instagram comment, Melton said, “Mans was in Raya even before it ended,” referring to the celebrity dating app. She also expressed disbelief at how many people liked his profile on the app.

However, it appears she’s taken a step back from those comments. “I made some comments about private matters that were taken out of context. I was misinformed. He is not a scammer. The rest of the story is not mine,” Melton posted later on Instagram. She added, “Out of respect for Christian’s and my privacy, I will not be discussing this matter further.”

Pulisic and Melton had been together since at least the summer of 2024. Melton played collegiate golf at USC and participated in the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open but hasn’t competed since. Meanwhile, Sweeney is rumored to be in a relationship with music manager Scooter Braun.

Pulisic is set to represent the U.S. at the 2026 World Cup, which will take place across North America, with the final match on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. This will mark Pulisic’s second World Cup appearance after he participated in the 2022 tournament in Qatar.

The U.S. team is the highest-ranked in their group, alongside Australia and Paraguay. The tournament kicks off for them on June 12 against Paraguay in Los Angeles.
