Bryson DeChambeau claims he is hopeful about LIV Golf's future even with the loss of Saudi funding.

DeChambeau Aims to Boost LIV Golf Amid Uncertainty

The mood surrounding LIV Golf isn’t particularly bright right now. However, Bryson DeChambeau is trying to change that, albeit with a unique approach. Recently, he’s faced some significant challenges after the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced it would cease funding for LIV after the 2026 season.

With the future of LIV Golf unclear, the two-time U.S. Open champion has mentioned on several occasions that he may pivot towards expanding his YouTube channel while primarily focusing on major competitions. He’s also hinted at possibly returning to the PGA Tour, discussing the hurdles he might encounter along the way.

As the defending champion, DeChambeau has been vocal about the upcoming LIV event in South Korea. “I was pretty surprised by the rapid withdrawal,” he shared, referring to the PIF’s announcement. “Honestly, we didn’t anticipate it. But you know, when one door closes, another opens.”

Despite the uncertainty, he seems hopeful. “A lot of us share this mindset. There’s a general optimism that a viable business plan exists for team golf. It might sound overly hopeful, but that’s my take—it’s a promising business model compared to others out there.”

DeChambeau is reportedly working diligently to secure the best possible future for LIV. “We’ll see if potential investors buy into it. I’m doing my best to make this work, but if they don’t see it, then it won’t materialize,” he explained.

Recent reports indicate that LIV Golf is crafting a new proposal for investors, emphasizing a global schedule with around 10 events. The 2026 season is slated to include 12 total events. They are reportedly seeking between $250 million and $350 million to sustain operations while aiming to turn a profit within three years.
