Concerns Raised Over Eric Swalwell’s Behavior

Alyssa Farrah Griffin, a co-host of “The View,” expressed her personal concern on Wednesday regarding California Representative Eric Swalwell, who she claimed appeared to have overindulged in alcohol at an event.

Swalwell has since ended his campaign for governor of California and stepped down from Congress after facing allegations of sexual assault, among various other misconduct accusations involving women. He acknowledged making a “mistake in judgment” but asserted that the assault allegations are unfounded.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg highlighted that Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego, a close ally of Swalwell, confirmed that rumors about Swalwell’s flirtatious behavior have circulated for years.

Gallego stated, “Eric Swalwell lied to all of us. He deceived the most influential figures in this country, who placed their trust in him in highly sensitive governmental roles, including the Judiciary and Intelligence Committees, as well as during the impeachment of Donald Trump.”

Griffin later remarked that these experiences have affected her perception of Swalwell, noting that her familial ties and friendship with him made her judgment cloudy. She expressed regret for not recognizing potential red flags sooner.

She mentioned that the allegations against Swalwell didn’t come as a shock to many, herself included. “I think rumors have their place. To be honest, I wasn’t aware or personally affected by any misconduct, but I’ve witnessed Swalwell being overserved. I believe people should speak up if they see something wrong,” she emphasized.

Griffin also warned that, even if there were no criminal acts, Swalwell’s behavior could make him a target for adversaries. She referred to past concerns regarding Swalwell’s alleged connections with a suspected Chinese spy, stating, “It was known that he had challenges with women and that he could drink too much. This could have serious implications for national security.”

“Ultimately, this wasn’t a secret. Yet, now the Democrats, including Adam Schiff, are urging him to resign, and thankfully, he did the right thing,” she added.

As of now, Swalwell’s representatives have not replied to requests for comment regarding these developments.
