Mystery Airship Spotted Over California’s Central Valley
A large airship was seen gliding over California’s Central Valley, surprising local residents who were not expecting such a sight. The unusual blimp-like craft stirred up quite a bit of concern.
Jessica Dyson from Merced mentioned that she heard odd sounds on Wednesday before she noticed the strange aircraft hovering near her home. She described the experience as bewildering.
Given the current concerns surrounding drone-related threats, this unmarked white airship certainly raised alarms. It seemed to be especially unsettling for those living in areas where such aircraft are a rare occurrence.
Previously, similar sightings have also sparked unease in various parts of California. A military plane, dubbed the “Doomsday Plane,” was recently spotted flying low along the Central Coast, prompting local worries before officials reassured the community that it was simply a standard training flight.
There has been a rising interest in airships throughout California. In the Bay Area, for instance, LTA Research conducted test flights with their Pathfinder 1 airship, capturing attention as it flew near San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge.
This company, founded by aeronautical engineer Alan Weston and supported by Google co-founder Sergey Brin, aims to develop advanced airships intended for cargo transport and humanitarian purposes.
The airship that caused the commotion in Merced was identified as an A-60 model, designated for pilot training. It was observed flying from Castle Airport to Moffett Federal Airfield.
