Joe Rogan Backs Spencer Pratt for LA Mayor
Podcaster Joe Rogan has expressed his support for Spencer Pratt, a former reality TV personality, in his campaign for mayor of Los Angeles. Rogan stated that he would like to see Pratt elected, even though he no longer resides in California.
Pratt, who gained fame as a villain on MTV’s “The Hills,” decided to enter the political arena after experiencing the devastating impact of California wildfires, which destroyed his home. He believes that the local authorities’ mishandling of the situation worsened the outcome.
“Honestly, I never wanted to run for office or deal with politicians,” Pratt explained during an interview. “But after witnessing the aftermath of the fires—my home gone, my neighbors lost—the truth began to emerge, and it felt like a cover-up.”
Pratt criticized the city’s leadership for not taking accountability for the disasters. He mentioned a desire to be more action-oriented, saying he didn’t want to be “just another yapper” who complains without taking steps toward change.
“I’m creating videos to share the truth. I was even investigated by Congress. After meeting folks in Washington, I decided to take action: I’ll tackle the toxic systems ruining lives in Los Angeles,” he said.
While Pratt doesn’t claim to envision a perfect Los Angeles, he wishes to restore it to what he remembers from his childhood. “I want the L.A. I grew up in, not some unrealistic ideal,” he remarked.
He envisions a way forward that involves practical law enforcement measures to improve local streets affected by crime, homelessness, and drug overdoses. “We’re going to make arrests and provide necessary medical treatment for those in need. Picture the excitement in the community when I show up, thinking, ‘This is the moment,’” Pratt stated.
Reflecting on his past as a controversial character on reality TV, Pratt noted that he has shifted his focus. Now, he prefers to be appreciated for making a real difference rather than being vilified for entertainment.
In the interview, Rogan expressed his support for Pratt’s campaign, saying, “I can’t vote for you, but I’m rooting for you. If I were in Los Angeles, I’d vote for you without hesitation.”
Efforts to reach Mayor Bass’ campaign for comments went unanswered.
