D4vd taken into custody on murder charges seven months after the dismembered remains of a teen girl were discovered in a Tesla.

In September, workers at a towing camp began noticing an unusual smell emanating from several Tesla vehicles they were handling.

Recently, police in Los Angeles arrested singer D4vd, following the discovery of the dismembered body of a missing girl in the trunk of his unoccupied Tesla. This arrest occurred seven months after the grim finding.

Officers from the Robbery-Homicide Division of the LAPD apprehended the pop singer—whose real name is David Burke—at his home in Hollywood Hills, and it was reported to have been without complications.

Burke, who is 21 years old, remains in custody without bail. His case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office on Monday, where more formal charges against him are anticipated.

Corporal Burke, who leads the homicide investigation, commented on the scene shortly after the singer’s arrest, mentioning that the team had invested significant time to gather evidence for the case.

The cause of the unusual odor was later confirmed to be the decomposed remains of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas.

“She had been deceased for a considerable time prior to this,” the inspector noted, adding that this initial challenge set back their progress. “We had to revisit the evidence to trace the timeline of her death and proceed accordingly.”

Over the following months, investigators diligently pursued leads to substantiate their claims.

Burke’s legal team released a statement after the arrest, asserting his innocence. They emphasized, “The evidence will demonstrate that David Burke did not cause Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death. At present, there have been no indictments against him.” They intend to strongly defend against any allegations.

Reported missing by her family in April, Rivas’s case became a priority for officials.

The medical examiner faced challenges in confirming she was a homicide victim due to the state of decomposition and the manner in which her body was found.

Investigators were able to trace Burke’s car easily since it was registered in his name.

Burke had been on a world tour and was scheduled to perform in Los Angeles before canceling his tour in light of the investigation.

From the start, Burke reportedly cooperated with law enforcement.

Investigators noted, “There were numerous links connecting her to him early on.” However, mere suspicion isn’t enough for charges, according to Williams.

The police began interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence to solidify their case against Burke.

As the investigation unfolded, unsettling details came to light. A private investigator revealed a “burn cage” incinerator, capable of reaching extremely high temperatures, found at the property rented by Burke around the time of the discovery.

Authorities monitored Burke’s movements, including tracing his connections to Texas where he had family.

After establishing probable cause for his arrest, officers moved swiftly to detain him.

Current beliefs suggest he acted independently in this tragic situation, with more developments expected soon. “There was considerable external pressure,” Williams remarked about the urgency felt by investigators, who were nonetheless committed to meticulous work to ensure a strong case.
