Gilgo Beach Murderer Rex Heuerman’s Confession Revealed

In a recent teaser for the final episode of Peacock’s documentary “Gilgo Beach Murderer: Secret House,” Rex Heuerman, the infamous serial killer, reportedly confessed to his ex-wife that he murdered all but one of his eight victims in his Long Island residence.

During the clip, Asa Ellerup, who finalized her divorce from Heuerman last year, recounted that he openly admitted to killing eight women, despite facing charges for only seven prior to his guilty plea on April 8.

Refusing to refer to him by his first name, Ellerup asked, “Mr. Heuerman, could you let me know how many of these women you have killed?” Heuerman allegedly responded, indicating he had murdered eight women.

When his attorney Bob Macedonio expressed surprise, asking about the eighth victim, Ellerup stated she hadn’t inquired further. Interestingly, Heuerman mentioned he was not home during the incidents but acknowledged that the murders occurred in his downstairs room, all but one.

The final episode, titled “Confession,” is set to air on Thursday and will explore how Ellerup and her daughter, Victoria, react to this shocking revelation.

Heuerman has pleaded guilty to the murders of several women known as the “Gilgo Four”: Amber Lynn Costello (27), Megan Waterman (22), Melissa Barthelemy (24), and Maureen Brainerd Burns (25). He also discussed the murders of Valerie Mack (24), Jessica Taylor (20), and Sandra Costilla (28), whose cases have been unresolved for decades.

Additionally, he confessed to Karen Vergata’s murder, despite having no direct connection to her case. The unsettling details reveal that he even mutilated some victims and bound them.

His criminal activities trace back to 1993 when he targeted Costilla, strangling her and leaving her body near Fish Cove Road, which was later discovered by hunters.

In 1996, Heuerman killed Vergata after arranging to meet her. Her identity remained undisclosed until 2023, 12 years after her skull was found on Ocean Parkway.

Prosecutors allege he dismembered Valerie Mack, who went missing between September and December 2000, disposing of her remains in Manorville. In July 2003, he murdered Jessica Taylor and dismembered her body before proceeding to Briannard Burns, whose remains were discovered in December 2010. This chain of events showcases his long pattern of violence.

Remarkably, Heuerman had previously maintained his innocence until his recent guilty plea. Suffolk District Attorney Ray Tierney emphasized the gravity of Heuerman’s actions, noting that he had targeted these women while appearing to live a normal life as a suburban father.

Heuerman is scheduled for sentencing on June 17th.
