Argentina’s President Javier Milei has consistently shown strong support for Israel. He reaffirmed this position Tuesday night by participating in Israel’s 78th Independence Day celebrations, where he sang and lit a ceremonial torch.

This marks a first, as he was selected to carry the torch, highlighting the effort to deepen relations with Israel, especially as both countries collaborate with the United States to address Iranian aggression in the Middle East and the Strait of Hormuz.

Milei was met with enthusiastic applause as he took center stage to join in the lively performance of the song Libre, created by Nina Bravo, Mari Levy, and Rotem Cohen.

“Light always triumphs over darkness, as lies and hatred ultimately yield to the truth and time,” Milei expressed to the audience.

“Thus, we light this torch to honor all who have fought for Israel’s freedom and sovereignty. Israel has repeatedly demonstrated that victory isn’t solely about the number of soldiers, but rather the divine strength that supports it.”
