Ilhan Omar Faces Questions on Asset Disclosure

Democratic Representative Ilhan Omar from Minnesota recently chose not to respond to inquiries regarding her asset disclosures.

Following requests from Republicans for financial documents concerning her and her husband, Omar altered her asset disclosures, reducing her previously reported millions to a much lower figure.

During an exchange with Lindell Television reporter Alison Steinberg, Omar appeared reluctant to address even the most basic questions about these changes. “Last time I spoke to you, you called me ‘stupid’ for inquiring about financial disclosure, so can you explain the inconsistencies?” Steinberg pressed.

In response, Omar stated, “I absolutely said, I think you’re stupid to ask me anything.” This led to a back-and-forth where Steinberg pushed further, “What about the American people who want to understand such a significant error?”

Omar smiled and claimed to have already provided an explanation to the public, but when Steinberg asked for specifics, Omar insisted she had already explained it, leaving the content of that explanation unclear.

Things took an amusing turn when Omar fired back, “I hate to say it, you bastard!” before quickly transitioning to a light-hearted farewell, “Okay, have a nice day!”

This interaction, captured on video by LindellTV, was shared widely across social media.

Originally, Omar had claimed her net worth had soared from $6 million to potentially $30 million within a year, significantly up from just $51,000. The steep rise raised eyebrows, leading Republicans to demand financial statements related to her husband’s business dealings.

Several months later, a spokesperson for Omar clarified that the previous figures were incorrect, asserting that the actual asset values were between $18,004 and $95,000.
