Investigation into Identity Theft Spanning Decades

Two men in their 50s are under scrutiny for allegedly living under the identities of their deceased children for over 30 years. Police in Washington State are now reaching out to the public for assistance in uncovering the details of their past.

The Pasco Police Department reported that these men adopted the names Tim Seidenfeld and Glenn Scotsin around 1990. Impressively, these identities can be traced back to two children from Idaho who tragically lost their lives in separate accidents in the 1970s.

This case is described by investigators as a long-standing identity enigma that has crossed state lines. Yet, authorities emphasize that the challenge lies not in locating the men but in figuring out how they managed to live under these stolen identities.

“We know where they are, we just need to uncover more about their previous lives,” shared Pasco Police Lt. Tom Groom. He added that they are specifically seeking more information about how these two men have navigated life under assumed names.

The two men are believed to have first come into the public eye in Salem, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington, shortly after they took on their new identities. From that point, they left a faint trace across several states, including Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, and California.

Authorities suspect that both individuals might have been involved in the telecommunications sector during the early 1990s, though a lack of official employment documentation complicates the investigation further.

“Given how long these individuals have been operating under false identities, traditional methods of identification have become quite challenging,” police noted.

While officials haven’t disclosed whether the men are suspected of additional crimes, the unique nature of the case raises questions about how they managed to blend into different lives for such an extended period.

Ultimately, detectives are hoping that someone might recognize the men or have valuable tips regarding their true identities. Authorities are encouraging anyone with useful information to reach out to Pasco police.
