Teen Assault Leaves Mother Terrified
A mother was left trembling after her 15-year-old daughter was violently attacked by a classmate, an incident that was caught on video. This shocking altercation, which happened after weeks of ongoing harassment, came alarmingly close to being fatal for the girl.
Lucinda Arroyo shared her distress, revealing that the 14-year-old aggressor, now jailed on assault charges, had been attempting to get her daughter’s attention for an extended period. The aggressive behavior escalated on Monday, surprising her daughter completely.
“She’s really shaken up right now. Her entire world is turned upside down,” said Arroyo, emphasizing the severity of the attack, which left her daughter with a concussion, bleeding, and potential brain injuries in the streets of East Harlem.
“It’s appalling that he escalated things so quickly. This isn’t just bullying; it’s assault. He could have killed her,” Arroyo expressed, highlighting the gravity of the situation.
Describing her feelings, Arroyo remarked, “Every time I see her, I’m just grateful that she’s home. It feels like a miracle.”
A disturbing video that surfaced on social media shows a masked boy confronting the girl shortly after school, around 3:30 p.m., at a busy intersection. The boy is seen blocking her path, threatening her as a friend mocks the situation from off-camera.
In the footage, as she attempts to get past him, he suddenly grabs her, lifts her off the ground, and slams her down with force. The video then captures the boy stomping on her head while she lies defenseless, before he simply walks away.
“The fact that this video was shared around as if it were entertainment is what angered me the most,” Arroyo said, recounting that her daughter woke up in an ambulance, struggling to comprehend the assault.
“While it was happening, he just ran off, and everyone around was filming instead of helping,” the distraught mother added. She raised concerns about the boy’s history, stating, “He has been in trouble before. This isn’t just a one-time thing—there’s a clear pattern here. He doesn’t seem to understand what’s right and wrong.”
The young aggressor has been charged with assault and made an appearance in court Thursday afternoon before being taken into custody.
