Ilhan Omar’s husband closes his California winery during House investigation

Somaliland requests the extradition of Ilhan Omar following Vance's fraud allegation.

A winery in California, which is partially owned by the husband of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), unexpectedly shut down in early April. This closure occurred as House Republicans began investigating Omar’s finances.

Recent financial disclosures indicate that Tim Mynett holds shares in eStCru Wines, which ceased operations on April 4, as per California business records. A report from Washington Free Beacon highlighted this development.

Delaney Bomer, a spokesperson for the Republican National Committee, stated, “Ilhan Omar has spent her life covering up Democratic-led fraud that has cost taxpayers billions of dollars. Therefore, it’s no surprise this would be the case with her husband. Voters have seen through the corrupt lies from them and their Democratic allies, and they will face consequences at the polls this November.”

The winery’s closure coincides with ongoing scrutiny from the House Oversight Committee regarding Omar’s financial dealings, focusing on her husband’s assets.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) wrote to Mynett, mentioning that the financial disclosure documents filed by Omar show a significant increase in the value of Mynett’s investments in eStCru LLC and Rose Lake Capital LLC, suggesting this surge could signal outside influence trying to gain sway over Omar.

Political consultant Tim Mynett established eStCru Wines in 2021. Omar’s latest financial disclosure valued her husband’s stocks in the winery between $1 million and $5 million—a sharp rise from the previous estimate of $15,001 to $50,000 noted in 2023.

Comer raised concerns over discrepancies in these disclosures, which Omar attributed to mere accounting mistakes. After revising her financial documents, Omar stated that her and Mynett’s assets were actually worth between $18,004 and $95,000, contrasting with the earlier figures of $6 million to $30 million.

A spokesperson for Omar expressed that initial reports overstated her husband’s wealth due to accounting errors and that the revised disclosures affirm that members of Congress aren’t nearly as wealthy as initially claimed. Fox News Digital attempted to reach Omar and the House Oversight Committee for comments but did not receive a response promptly.
