Warrant Issued for James Comey’s Arrest
Reports indicate that a warrant has been issued for the arrest of former FBI Director James Comey. This development follows a subpoena after he faced indictment in September 2025 on charges of making false statements and obstructing justice.
According to Paul Sperry, a senior reporter at RealClearInvestigations, the warrant pertains to multiple grand jury charges in North Carolina linked to an Instagram photo where “8647” was spelled out on a seashell. Sperry mentioned that the warrant was issued for Comey regarding alleged threats against the President based on the images he posted last summer. The U.S. Marshals are expected to execute the arrest.
At that time, Comey claimed he did not create any threatening image, asserting instead that he stumbled upon it while walking on the beach. It’s unclear what he shared with federal agents who questioned him about this situation.
Additionally, the Department of Justice reportedly indicted Comey for a second time, as noted by Breitbart News’ Sean Moran. CNN also cited sources stating that the details of this new indictment remain unclear. Previously, he had been indicted for lying to Congress regarding leaked information, but a federal judge dismissed that case due to a perceived issue with the appointment of the interim U.S. attorney in Virginia.
The new charges may be related to the Instagram photo of the “8647” seashell, which Comey deleted shortly after posting, emphasizing that he hadn’t meant to connect it to any threats against Donald Trump.
CNN further clarified that while court records show a warrant has been issued for Comey’s arrest, this doesn’t necessarily indicate that he will be arrested soon.
