A man, dressed in a gray and white hoodie along with gloves and a mask, reportedly entered the bank and opened fire, resulting in the deaths of both a man and a woman, as stated by Kentucky State Police spokesman Officer Scotty Pennington.
“These are local individuals who worked in our community, and it’s heartbreaking that they’re no longer with us,” Pennington expressed. “We’re following several leads and doing everything we can to capture this dangerous individual.”

Pennington urged the community, “If something seems off, if your dog is acting strangely, please contact us.”
A local school was momentarily locked down during the incident but has since released students to their parents.
In a statement, U.S. Bank affirmed they are cooperating with law enforcement and extending support to those affected by the tragedy. “We’re incredibly saddened by the loss of two employees at our Berea branch today. Our thoughts are with the families of the victims and the entire Bellaire community,” the statement read.
