Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt has criticized a fellow contender after voicing concerns about a campaign ad being filmed outside his residence.
This response came after city councilor Nitya Raman expressed her discontent about a brief ad where Pratt mentioned seeking a $3 million home.
“It feels unnecessary and reckless to film outside the home where I live with young children,” Raman told Us Weekly.
Pratt wasted no time in countering her remarks.
“Nitya just validated the premise of our commercial,” he posted on X.
“She doesn’t care if a homeless drug addict is in front of her house or near her kids’ school. But God forbid if a man in a suit snaps a picture for a couple of minutes on a public street,” he added.
Pratt shot the “They Don’t Like Us” ad in front of Raman’s home, as well as Mayor Karen Bass’s place, which suffered damage from a significant fire in Pacific Palisades last year.
“This is where Mayor Bass lives. Did you notice anything? Or this is where Nitya Raman’s $3 million mansion is located. They don’t have to deal with the chaos they’ve contributed to,” Pratt asserted in the ad.
He continued, addressing viewers while standing near his Airstream trailer, “They burned down my house. I understand the consequences of ineffective leadership. That’s why I’m running for mayor—my sons and all the Angelenos who want to put an end to corrupt politicians ruining our city. We’re aiming to bring back Los Angeles’ golden era.”
The ad has gained traction, amassing around 11 million views on X by Friday morning.
Both Pratt and Raman are building momentum in the race, but the current mayor remains in the lead with 25% support. According to a recent UCLA poll, Pratt held 11%, and Raman had 9% of the vote.
