Teenagers Cause Damage at Florida Golf Course
In Florida, detectives are currently pursuing a group of teenagers after they left extensive tire marks and incurred significant property damage in a pristine setting, during a late-night joyride around a golf course.
This incident took place at Weston Hills Golf Course on Saturday, April 18, around 7:17 p.m., according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO).
When deputies arrived in response to reports of unusual activities, they discovered considerable damage to the greens. Witnesses reported seeing several juveniles riding mopeds and golf carts across the course.
Local authorities shared a video that allegedly depicts the teens racing through the landscape, disregarding the property, which officials estimate will require thousands of dollars for repairs.
Eyewitnesses noted that the teenagers were accelerating, making abrupt stops, and sliding across the greens, which left noticeable tire marks.
At least four teenagers were spotted on motorized bicycles as others drove golf carts directly onto the greens, an area that’s off-limits due to the potential for damage.
Early assessments by the golf course staff suggested that the damage totaled around $3,000.
Weston Hills Golf Course is a prominent facility known for its two 18-hole championship courses, set on over 300 acres.
The Sheriff’s Office is treating this event as a case of criminal mischief and is seeking to identify the individuals involved.
While specific descriptions of the boys haven’t been released yet, officials hope the video evidence will aid in generating leads.
