Policy Event on Leveraging American Strengths Featuring Secretary Doug Burgum

Breitbart News to Host Event on Energy Dominance and AI

Breitbart News is set to hold a policy event focusing on U.S. energy leadership and artificial intelligence. Doug Burgum, Secretary of the Interior and Chairman of the National Energy Governance Council, will be one of the major speakers joined by Sen. Dave McCormick (R-Pennsylvania). Scheduled for Monday, May 11th, the event, themed “Harnessing America’s Power,” will feature panel discussions led by Matthew Boyle, the Washington Bureau Chief.

Burgum highlighted the importance of this conversation at a crucial time, stating, “Unlocking our nation’s vast energy resources is central to positioning America to win the AI race, strengthen our national security, and drive economic growth.” He emphasized that building an energy-independent future to support the next generation of artificial intelligence requires an innovative strategy focused on energy abundance.

Boyle remarked on the events’ relevance, particularly in light of current global challenges. “The Iran war is impacting energy markets and the surge in AI necessitates more energy production than ever,” he noted. He underscored that Trump’s energy policies are vital to America’s future and emphasized Burgum’s position as a key voice in navigating these issues.

Burgum has been a key advisor to Trump on various matters and has played a role in achieving significant levels of domestic energy production, even as far back as 2025, with record offshore oil production. In a statement, he reiterated, “The United States needs to fully develop its abundant energy resources for economic strength and the benefit of the American people.”

The upcoming event is not the first collaboration between Breitbart News and Burgum. Earlier in March 2025, they discussed ways to counteract President Biden’s energy policies.

Alongside Burgum will be McCormick, who is eager to explore the economic opportunities facing the nation, especially since Pennsylvania, as the second-largest energy producer, is poised to contribute significantly to the energy and AI sectors.

Matt Sparks from the ALFA Institute mentioned, “America’s renaissance begins with abundant minerals, energy, and water,” pointing to Burgum’s leadership as a cornerstone for future success.

Mike Catanzaro, CEO of CGCN Group, expressed confidence in America’s technological edge in AI and posed the question of whether the nation can swiftly harness the necessary energy. Fortunately, with Burgum’s and Trump’s guidance, the U.S. is making strides in energy production and innovation.

This policy event follows an array of discussions hosted by Breitbart News in recent years featuring several notable figures in politics and commerce.
