Ron Simmons, a host on Blaze TV, argues that Jimmy Kimmel’s recent joke about his widow shouldn’t be seen as incitement to violence. Instead, he highlights a more concerning trend: the normalization of political violence. “I don’t think Jimmy is telling anyone to kill,” Simmons shares. “He’s poking fun at a serious issue, like those recent attempts on President Trump’s life.”

Melania Trump seems to stand beside Simmons on this. She criticized Kimmel’s rhetoric, calling it divisive, and emphasized that his comments about her family cross the line from comedy to harmful speech.

Kimmel’s joke has sparked reactions, with Melania urging ABC to take a stronger stance against it. She even called for Kimmel’s dismissal, a sentiment Simmons echoes, saying, “He should be fired immediately.”

But Kimmel isn’t alone in making inflammatory remarks. Simmons also pointed out others, specifically mentioning Hasan Piker, who has made comments that raise similar concerns. Piker had suggested in a New York Times interview that the actions of a healthcare CEO warranted lethal consequences.

He referred to what he termed as “societal murder,” attributing real harm to the actions of figures like the United Healthcare CEO. He cited the structural violence related to poverty and the healthcare system. Further driving the point home, Simmons noted that Piker’s Twitch streams contain even more extreme remarks, suggesting violence against politicians and property owners.

“There are significant figures out there making remarks that simply shouldn’t be tolerated if we care about responsible discourse,” said Simmons. He absorbed this in light of recent societal issues, implying that such inflammatory language shouldn’t find a platform.
