Ex-MLB player Noah Syndergaard on Trump: 'He’s Really a Patriotic Person'

Noah Syndergaard Talks Trump at White House Event

Former MLB player Noah Syndergaard recently expressed his admiration for President Donald Trump, describing him as a “patriot” and a fun individual to be around, while also raising questions about the critiques the president faces.

Syndergaard met Trump at the White House on Tuesday during an event celebrating the Presidential Fitness Test.

“It’s a dream come true. I feel this bliss in this moment,” Syndergaard conveyed during his appearance on Fox News Channel’s Ingraham Angle.

He voiced confusion over the negative sentiment directed at Trump from mainstream media, certain Republicans, and the political left.

“I just don’t understand all the negativity he receives, as he truly cares about the well-being of everyone and the country,” Syndergaard remarked. He referenced the positive energy he feels from the now 79-year-old president.

“I admire his mental energy, his sharpness, and his humor. He’s just a lot of fun to be around,” Syndergaard added.

His visit coincided with National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. During this time, President Trump reinstated the Presidential Physical Fitness Test aimed at schoolchildren.

“My administration is focused on empowering the next generation and encouraging sports participation. That’s why I signed an executive order to activate the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition and reinstate the Presidential Fitness Test,” the proclamation stated.

“This year marks the Council’s 70th anniversary, and under my leadership, we are making fitness and nutrition a national priority again.”

Syndergaard noted that this initiative resonated with him personally, as he remembers taking similar tests as a child.

“Honestly, if I had been talking to you at 10 years old about the President’s Fitness Council, I would have thought you were joking,” he said. He emphasized how crucial being active and healthy is, recalling he was more of a late bloomer in his youth. “Just being able to interact with the kids today, doing some ground balls and pull-ups while soaking up the sun on the White House lawn was an amazing experience.”
