Florida man wearing 'No Christ No Life' T-shirt taken into custody for robbery at Tampa bus stop

Video has emerged showing a man in Florida, sporting a T-shirt that reads “No Christ No Life,” attacking an 82-year-old woman at a bus stop. He struck her hard enough to knock her out and then robbed her, leading to his arrest days later, according to police reports.

On May 1, at around 7:45 p.m. in the Wellswood neighborhood of Tampa, the incident occurred. Authorities stated that 56-year-old Joseph Patrick Wren was taken into custody and charged with robbery.

As the woman attempted to pass by him, Wren allegedly grabbed her hair and violently threw her to the ground, rendering her unconscious. Afterward, he made off with her bag and fled the scene on a bicycle. The victim was hospitalized for treatment but has since been released and is recuperating at home.

Police are investigating further and had appealed for public assistance in identifying the attacker.

This case gained some momentum after members of the community shared Tesla video footage of the crime, which depicted the suspect clearly. In the footage, Wren was observed wearing that notable T-shirt and a blue hat.

Interestingly, the police said he matched the description of an individual involved in a bicycle theft that happened earlier that same day, narrowing down their search.

Officers later spotted Wren while patrolling near North Nebraska Street and East Annie Street, resulting in his arrest.

Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercow commended the investigation’s collaborative effort, emphasizing how it showcased the strength of the community in maintaining safety. “In Tampa, we all work together to hold criminals accountable,” he stated, regarding the case’s resolution.

Wren is currently being held without bail in the Hillsborough County Jail.
