Female World Cup soccer candidate charged with repeatedly raping a 14-year-old boy with braces

A young woman aspiring to be a professional soccer player is facing serious allegations of repeatedly raping a 14-year-old boy, who was still in braces, and sending him explicit photos of herself.

Oteta Cristina Kitiona, now 20, has been indicted on several charges related to her reported sexual relationship with a minor in Bluffdale, Utah, back in 2024 when she was 19. Police have provided details about the case.

Kitiona, who was involved in Samoa’s unsuccessful bid to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, is accused of abusing the boy on multiple occasions over a six-month period before he started university, according to reports.

According to court documents, the boy stated that Kitiona visited his home “two to three times a week” from June to October 2024 for sexual activities.

The alleged relationship reportedly paused during Kitiona’s time at Bellevue University in Washington, but they resumed contact about a month after her return home.

During one incident, she allegedly sent the boy explicit photos and videos, claiming they were “clean and naked from head to toe.”

In addition, she reportedly encouraged him to share nude photos of himself, including some taken while she was in the shower.

In Utah, the legal age of consent is 18 years.

Kitiona was charged just two months after participating with the Samoa women’s national team during World Cup qualifying in February. She faces charges for distributing harmful material to minors and three counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor under 21.

At this time, Kitiona is not in custody but has received a summons to appear in court on June 6.

The local police have not provided immediate comments regarding the matter.
