Savannah Guthrie honored her mother, Nancy Guthrie, in a Mother’s Day post amidst ongoing concerns about the 84-year-old’s disappearance.
On Sunday, Savannah shared a heartfelt moment featuring Nancy alongside her family, including her grandchildren and brother. “Mother, daughter, sister, nonnie,” she wrote in the caption. “We miss you with every breath. We will never stop searching for you. We will never be at peace until we find you.”
She emphasized the need for assistance, urging anyone with information to call 1800CALLFBI and reminding them that they can remain anonymous, with a reward still available. “Keep praying. Let’s bring her home.”
For Savannah, it was a mixed day, as she also balances motherhood with her two children, Vale, 11, and Charlie, 9, with her husband, Michael Feldman.
The search for Nancy has now reached its 90th day, as she was last seen on January 31. Authorities believe she may have been abducted from her home in Tucson, Arizona.
Surveillance footage from a doorbell camera captured a masked figure outside Nancy’s residence on the night she vanished.
Following her disappearance, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos faced criticism for quickly declaring Nancy’s house a crime scene and opting for a private DNA service over the FBI.
Concerns were also raised about his decision not to use essential resources like cadaver dogs in the search efforts.
This week, FBI Director Kash Patel questioned the handling of DNA evidence and criticized local law enforcement for initially restricting federal agency involvement. He mentioned, “For four days, we were kept away from the investigation,” during a Fox News appearance.
In response, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department denied his claims, asserting that cooperation with the FBI began promptly. The FBI is now utilizing advanced technology to analyze DNA samples gathered from Nancy’s home.
Since her disappearance, several ransom notes have surfaced, including some sent to TMZ. Savannah, along with her siblings, has been making videos on social media, urging anyone with details to step forward.
Recently, a masked individual was spotted nearby Nancy’s area, although no suspects have been identified by the police since her abduction.
Compounding the situation, Savannah left the “Today” show abruptly last Wednesday but returned the following day without addressing her sudden absence. This came shortly after she had recently resumed work from a two-month break she took earlier.
In a previous interview, Savannah expressed heartfelt apologies to her family, saying through tears, “If it was me, I’d be so sorry. I’m so sorry.” These sentiments reflect the emotional toll this situation has taken on her and her loved ones.
