Angel Reese accepts villain status in Dallas, showing off and provoking fans during Atlanta Dream's victory over Wings

Angel Reese Thrives as the Villain in Atlanta Dream’s Victory

Angel Reese embraced her role, playing the villain during the Atlanta Dream’s exhilarating 77-72 victory over the Dallas Wings. It was clear she found joy in the moment.

Reese sparked the crowd’s reactions early on by snagging an offensive rebound and, right after, threw down the “Too Small” gesture, which only intensified the boos coming from Dallas fans. It was almost as if she thrived on the energy.

Throughout the night, Reese continued to celebrate her plays with that same gesture after another offensive rebound, despite the ongoing jeers. Perhaps deep down, she knew what to expect when stepping onto that court.

After a somewhat rough debut game, where, surprisingly, she recorded a double-double but felt dissatisfied with her performance, Reese was optimistic. She mentioned her competitive spirit before Tuesday’s match, stating, “If the shots aren’t falling, we can go back to being defensive, but we know tonight is going to be a better night.”

And indeed, she raised her game. With 12 points and 16 rebounds, and a flawless free-throw record, Reese helped the Dream secure another win, bringing their season record to 2-0. Alisha Gray anchored the offense with an impressive 26 points, while Jordan Canada and Rhyne Howard contributed significantly as well.

Post-game, Reese couldn’t help but share a graphic on her Instagram, proudly noting the team’s record with the caption, “2-0, ROAD KILLS.”

While she might not instantly charm a crowd that’s less than welcoming, Reese appears to be forging a solid bond with her teammates. Alisha Gray praised her after the game, describing Reese as a positive force, always uniting the team, and highlighting her hard work ethic. Gray remarked, “Once you get to know her, she’s a great person, a lot of fun to be around. I’m having the best time of my life with Angel.”

Looking forward, the Dream will take on the reigning champion Las Vegas Aces this Sunday at State Farm Arena.
