Trump’s Arrival in Beijing Celebrated
On Wednesday, China welcomed President Donald Trump with a grand reception as he arrived in Beijing.
As he stepped off Air Force One, a crowd of students waved both Chinese and American flags while honor guards lined the red carpet at Beijing Capital Airport.
Upon his arrival, President Trump was greeted with flowers.
Joining him on Air Force One were his sons Eric and Lara Trump, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of the Army Pete Hegseth, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang.
Several notable CEOs, including Apple’s Tim Cook, are also part of the U.S. delegation accompanying Trump during this trip to China.
In a late-night post on Truth Social, Trump expressed:
“We are honored to be joined by Jensen, Elon, Tim Apple, and many others. In this great country of China, we will be asking President Xi, our extraordinary leader, to ‘open up’ China so that our brilliant people can work their magic and take the People’s Republic to even greater heights.”
During a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump indicated that his first request would be for Xi to “open up” China.
He emphasized that he would make this request when they met, stating, “I have never seen or heard of an idea that would be more beneficial to our great nation!”
After arriving at his hotel, Trump will attend an official ceremony on Thursday morning, Beijing time, where he is set to meet with President Xi.
Before departing for China, Trump spoke to reporters on the South Lawn of the White House, answering questions for over 15 minutes. When asked if he believed Xi could help with a deal on Iran, he replied, “He could do it. I mean, he might. Honestly, I don’t think they need any help when it comes to Iran. They’re defeated militarily. Either they do the right thing or we’re done.”
