The Coast Guard has shared new images of Brian Hooker’s yacht, which was seized amid an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of his wife, Lynette Hooker.
According to a news release, agents from the Coast Guard Investigative Service (CGIS) confiscated the couple’s sailboat, named Soulmate, about 40 nautical miles off Melbourne, Florida, between May 8 and May 10.
Lynette Hooker reportedly fell from a dinghy after they left the shore in Hopetown, Bahamas, around 7:30 p.m. on April 4, as Brian claimed rough seas caused the incident. He made his way to shore and reached Marsh Harbor around 4 a.m. on April 5.
The couple had been on their way back to their yacht—their home since retirement—when the accident occurred. Their social media indicates they often sail across the United States and the Caribbean.
As of now, Brian Hooker hasn’t faced any charges.
The Coast Guard noted that the boat’s seizure was part of a “complex surveillance and interdiction operation.” The yacht has been taken to the Coast Guard Fort Pierce Station for examination for possible evidence.
Currently, the Soulmate is in CGIS custody as part of the active investigation. Images captured by Fox News Digital show the yacht secured at the Coast Guard Station.
This seizure followed the Coast Guard’s earlier request for public assistance in locating the owner of another yacht that had been nearby the Hookers’ yacht in the Bahamas.
A Bahamian attorney mentioned that Brian had left the island to look after his ill mother.
Brian Hooker’s lawyer from Michigan previously urged the public to approach the situation with understanding, suggesting that not everyone handles traumatic experiences in the same way. She asked the audience to give him the benefit of the doubt.
