Tiger Woods Returns from Treatment

Tiger Woods has returned from his overseas treatment, as seen when he disembarked from a private plane at Palm Beach International Airport on Wednesday afternoon. He had spent several weeks in Switzerland.

Woods, sporting a beard, wore black long-sleeves, a hat, sunglasses, gray shorts, and black shoes, while a compression sleeve covered his left leg. Interestingly, a dog accompanied him on the flight.

Woods had faced legal troubles when he was arrested for drunk driving after a car accident on March 27. Authorities reported he appeared lethargic and had hydrocodone pills found on him, although a breathalyzer test indicated a zero blood alcohol level.

Following the incident, he was granted permission to undergo “comprehensive inpatient treatment” starting April 1. In a statement, Woods acknowledged the seriousness of his situation and expressed his commitment to focus on his health to work towards recovery.

He stated, “I understand the need to take time off to receive treatment… I am determined to return to a healthier and more focused place, personally and professionally. I appreciate your understanding and support during this time.”

While Woods pleaded not guilty to the drunk driving charges, he had initially indicated hopes to participate in the Masters tournament. However, his path back to the golf course has been delayed due to treatment commitments.

Having not played since the 2024 British Open, Woods will miss another major event this weekend—the PGA Championship. This incident marks his second DUI arrest in a decade.

Woods had previously mentioned to police that he has undergone seven back surgeries and over 20 surgeries on his legs, citing multiple prescription medications in use. In a serious car accident in 2021, he sustained significant leg injuries that kept him off the course for an entire year.

A recent court ruling allows Florida prosecutors to access Woods’ prescription drug records from the beginning of January to the date of his accident.
