Spencer Pratt Responds to Chelsea Handler’s Remarks
Spencer Pratt has reacted to comedian Chelsea Handler, who reignited their long-standing rivalry with a video that included harsh language, likening him to Donald Trump.
In a social media video shared on Friday, Handler mixed a drink while criticizing Pratt’s political aspirations and his reality TV background.
“If you’re watching this video, just know: a straight, white man who used to be on reality TV and has zero experience in government shouldn’t be a serious political candidate. Haven’t we learned anything?”
“The bar is set so low, I want you to leap over it.”
As the June 2 primary election approaches, Pratt, who is gaining traction in his campaign against Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, responded with a pointed comeback.
Comedian Shane Gillis chimed in by sharing a clip that mocked Handler, even making a controversial assertion that “Chelsea Handler dined at Jeffrey Epstein’s house in 2010.”
Pratt intensified the situation by commenting on the supposedly limited guest list, which he claims included Prince Andrew and Woody Allen.
The animosity between him and Handler dates back to the late 2000s, marked by her frequent jabs at him and his wife on her show, Chelsea Lately.
This latest exchange comes after a rise in tensions post the Netflix Is A Joke festival finale at the Kia Forum on May 10, where Kevin Hart’s commendations were overshadowed by a dispute involving Gillis and Handler, further complicating the intermingling of comedy and politics.
Pratt’s public profile has surged recently. He is positioning himself as a candidate from outside the political sphere, focusing on discontent with the current city leadership and its handling of crises.
He has persistently criticized Mayor Bass for her inaction following last year’s Palisades fire, which destroyed a home in Pacific Palisades and affected over 18,000 structures in the area.
When a TMZ report stated he was residing at the Hotel Bel Air instead of an Airstream trailer, Pratt countered on social media:
“Karen Bass burned down my house and 6,000 people in my neighborhood.”
