Recently released body camera footage reveals the moment police discovered Mackenzie Cirilla—nicknamed the ‘Hell’s Wheels’ killer—still alive in a mangled car after she intentionally crashed it into a wall at nearly 100 mph, killing her boyfriend and his friend.
Responding officers were visibly shocked to find the 17-year-old driver alive in a vehicle that had been torn in two.
“I’ve never seen anything like this,” one officer remarked, noting the distress of his colleague who found the deceased victims.
Cirilla drove her car into a wall, resulting in the deaths of her boyfriend, 20-year-old Dominic Russo, and his friend, 19-year-old Davion Flanagan, in a Cleveland suburb in July 2022.
Chilling footage, made public this week, shows the frantic efforts of first responders at the horrific scene, coinciding with insights from a new Netflix documentary that delves into the case.
In the raw footage obtained by TMZ, an officer could be heard exclaiming, “This is awful.”
As they hurried toward the wreck, the officers were stunned to see Cirilla was still breathing.
Amid the chaos, a voice yelled, “The driver is unconscious and not breathing,” highlighting the urgent situation. “There are two things missing.”
The video depicts an officer frantically trying to shatter the driver’s side window to reach her.
Firefighters eventually pried open the door, and as they extracted Cirilla from the wreckage, they heard her screams while rushing her to an ambulance.
Since being convicted of murder and several other charges in 2023, Cirilla, now 21, has been incarcerated. Her trial was described by the presiding judge as “literal hell.”
The Netflix documentary “The Crash,” which explores her story, has quickly become a top hit on the streaming service since its recent debut.
In the documentary, Cirilla, appearing from prison, expresses remorse for the fatal incident and maintains she is “not a monster.”
