Drew Carey recently shared his thoughts on Spencer Pratt’s run for mayor of Los Angeles through a candid post on social media.
The iconic host of “The Price is Right” is venturing into political commentary. He urged Los Angeles voters to reconsider their support ahead of the upcoming June primary.
Carey expressed, “Anyone who voted for or supported Spencer Pratt in the LA mayoral race needs to correct their thinking.” He added, “It’s understandable to feel anger and frustration, but at least support someone competent instead of a dishonest individual lacking a moral compass.”
Pratt has pledged to leave Los Angeles if his mayoral campaign, which started in January, doesn’t succeed. He is particularly critical of current Mayor Karen Bass, whom he blames for the city’s handling of the 2025 Palisades wildfire that affected his own home.
Interestingly, Pratt, along with his wife Heidi Montag and other property owners, has also initiated a lawsuit against Los Angeles and the Department of Water and Power (LADWP) for negligence in regards to the wildfire.
In his own social media post from the weekend, Pratt asked residents to dream bigger for Los Angeles, asserting, “We don’t have to accept dirt and decay. Our city has some of the greatest places on earth; we deserve better. Vote for Pratt. Vote for Los Angeles. Together, let’s clean up this city.”
His campaign has stirred up controversy, especially regarding his affiliation as a registered Republican and his endorsement of former President Donald Trump. In a recent statement, Trump voiced support for Pratt but raised concerns about California’s election integrity, hinting at potential voter fraud.
Pratt, however, aims to position himself outside party politics. “I don’t have an R or a D next to my name. I don’t belong to any political party because politicians don’t inspire me,” he remarked.
While Pratt is officially a Republican, the mayoral race in Los Angeles is nonpartisan. If no candidate secures over 50% in the primary on June 2nd, the top two will face off in November.
