Trump Urges Muslim Countries to Join Abraham Accords

President Donald Trump is reportedly encouraging Muslim-majority nations to adopt the Abraham Accords if they wish to engage in the ongoing discussions regarding a deal with Iran.

The Abraham Accords represent a series of agreements focused on establishing diplomatic ties between Israel and various Arab and Muslim-majority states.

Trump Indicates Iran Deal is Under Negotiation

During a recent phone call with leaders from the region, Trump expressed to countries like Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Egypt, Pakistan, Turkey, and Jordan that normalizing relations with Israel should be a priority.

He mentioned on Truth Social, “After all the efforts the United States has put into this complex situation, all these nations should be required to sign the Abraham Accords, ideally all at once.”

Trump Notes Interest in Expanding Abraham Accords

In his statements, Trump also indicated plans to meet with Emirates and Bahrain leaders, who were the initial signatories to these accords in 2020.

Interestingly, he suggested that there might be a possibility for Iran to join the Abraham Accords someday.

Military Presence as a Safeguard

Trump emphasized the role of U.S. military strength as a protective measure against Iranian proxies, describing it as an “iron shield” for American bases and lives.

Commenting on his conversations with regional leaders, he expressed optimism about the potential inclusion of Iran in the accords, calling it a possibility that would be “special.”

Election Timeline Could Delay Progress

However, U.S. and Israeli officials believe that the UAE won’t take further steps on this matter until after Israel’s elections scheduled for September.
