Softball Drama Unfolds as Mia Williams Transfers to Texas Tech

White Chocolate was enjoying herself amid the college softball drama involving her daughter, Mia Williams. Mia, who played for the Florida Gators during 2024-2025, made a switch to Texas Tech for the current season, leaving some unresolved tension behind.

This situation escalated at the College World Series held during the Gainesville Super Regional.

Jason, Mia’s father and a former University of Florida student, found himself ejected from the stadium in the opening game of a three-game series. Throughout this series, his daughter was hit by pitches five times.

Following a pitch from Florida ace Keegan Rothrock, Jason appeared to clash with a Texas Tech fan, as reported by WRUF and ESPN.

Jason was seen shouting into the Florida dugout after Texas Tech hit a home run. In a moment of irony, he pulled off a gator chop, a gesture symbolizing where he had once played.

Eventually, Jason was allowed back in, but Rothrock remained banned from re-entering the venue. Mir, despite facing two hit-by-pitches, secured the game-winning home run in the eighth inning, leading the Red Raiders to a 10-8 victory in the first game.

In Game 2, Florida managed two hits against Mir but won convincingly at 10-2. By Game 3, Texas Tech found themselves trailing 4-3 in the second inning when Mir launched a significant home run, flipping the score to 5-4—a lead they maintained throughout.

As Texas Tech triumphed 16-7 and advanced to the College World Series, Mia celebrated her homer with a bat flip. During the game, Jason mockingly yelled into the Florida dugout.

Emotions ran high during the final game as fans and coaches clashed, resulting in Florida Gators manager Tim Walton being ejected. When asked post-game about intentionally targeting Mir with pitches, Walton remarked, “It makes no sense at all… Kids transfer schools all the time.”

Post-Game 3, Jason, an NBA star and a beloved figure from the late ’90s, was allowed onto the field. His impromptu speech to the team drew criticism from Florida State parents and fans.

“When they threw it at her, she accepted the challenge and punched through,” said Texas Tech coach Jerry Glasco about Mir’s performance. “She won every battle.”

Mia was aware of the hurdles she would face in the series. “I told the team coming into this weekend that they have to have my back,” she noted, recognizing the significance of their support.

Adding to the tension, Mia’s mother stirred the pot on Facebook, suggesting Florida should focus on better pitching rather than recruiting more shortstops, as WRUF mentioned.

With an impressive 57-7 record, Texas Tech, which fell to Texas in last year’s championship, is now preparing to take on Mississippi State in the College World Series.
