Parris Campbell Retires from NFL
Wide receiver Parris Campbell is the latest player to step away from football. The 28-year-old was placed on the reserve/retired list by the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, formally marking his retirement.
The Dallas Cowboys announced, “Parris Campbell will retire his cleats in 2026. The veteran wide receiver has officially decided to retire from the NFL, and his time with the Dallas Cowboys has ended.” Campbell’s decision follows a challenging season where he spent time on injured reserve and the practice squad, not playing in a single regular-season game until he signed a futures contract in January.
His last appearance in an NFL regular season was in 2024 while playing for the Philadelphia Eagles, during which he had six receptions across five games and notably won the Super Bowl.
Before joining the NFL, Campbell was a standout at Ohio State University. He was picked in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Indianapolis Colts. Over the course of four seasons with the Colts, he amassed nearly 1,000 receiving yards, hitting a personal best of 623 yards in 2022. He later joined the New York Giants in 2023.
With Campbell’s departure, the Dallas Cowboys now have two openings on their 90-man roster; one of those is pending his retirement decision. Parris Campbell, soon to be 29, will likely be reflecting on his career as the Cowboys gear up for team activities in June.
