Caitlin Clark’s Bay Area Visit Draws Attention
WNBA star Caitlin Clark is currently in the Bay Area, and she’s already attracting plenty of attention before even stepping onto the court.
On Wednesday afternoon, Clark, who plays for the Indiana Fever, used her day off to catch an MLB game at Oracle Park. Watching the Giants play was a nice change, and the stunning views of McCovey Cove definitely made the trip worthwhile.
She was seated in a premium owner’s box next to the Giants’ dugout, enjoying the game alongside her girlfriend, former Iowa State basketball player Connor McCaffery. Of course, it didn’t take long for cameras to pick her out in the crowd. Clark sported a Giants cap, complete with the classic silver “SF” logo.
Her presence at the game heightened the excitement for Thursday night’s showdown at Chase Center, where the Fever will face the Valkyries. This game holds additional significance due to the tension leftover from their recent match. Last week, after returning from a hip injury, Clark silenced critics by scoring 22 points and providing nine assists in a victory.
Despite her impressive performance, drama unfolded during that game. A clash with an opposing player, Hayes, led to complaints about favoritism from the officials toward Clark. Hayes even took to social media, which stirred some controversy among fans, with some calling for the league to take action regarding the heated exchanges surrounding Clark.
With anticipation building, the rematch between the Fever and the Valkyries is set for Thursday night. Fans are eager to see how it will unfold.
