Todd Blanche promises to take action against the 'disgusting' protester who threatened to kill an ICE agent's family.

U.S. Attorney Condemns Threats Against ICE Officers

The acting U.S. Attorney, Todd Blanche, has made it clear that individuals who threaten ICE officers, particularly those making death threats against the family of a federal immigration employee, will face serious consequences. This comes after a heated incident outside Delaney Hall in Newark.

Blanche described the threats as “disgusting,” emphasizing the severity of the situation. “Just consider how terrible it is to target not only ICE officers but also their families,” he remarked. Having witnessed unsettling footage from the confrontation, he assured that they would track down the perpetrator and ensure proper legal action.

In a recent gathering, tensions escalated as a protestor confronted ICE officials outside the Newark facility. Activists had been rallying for days, claiming that detainees were on hunger strike due to inadequate living conditions, which led to confrontations with law enforcement.

One particularly aggressive protester, caught on video, was heard shouting threats at federal agents, warning them about their families. Blanche expressed confusion as to why the protestors seemed to direct their anger toward ICE officers, who were merely carrying out their duties.

The protests outside Delaney Hall, which started over Memorial Day weekend, have been relentless, with demonstrators attempting to obstruct access for vehicles and personnel.

On Thursday night, the scene intensified as approximately 100 protestors clashed with law enforcement, resulting in nine arrests due to violent actions against officers. Homeland Security Secretary Mark Wayne Mullin highlighted the seriousness of the offenses, affirming that assaulting ICE agents is a felony, and stressed that the law would be upheld without compromise.

“We will ensure that law and order prevail,” Mullin stated firmly.
