Trump’s Health Report Review
President Donald Trump is reported to be in “excellent health,” according to a memo from his doctor released on Friday, following his annual physical exam earlier in the week.
This report came after Trump’s examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday. Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbavera, the president’s personal physician, noted that Trump’s heart, lungs, and overall bodily functions appear to be in good shape.
Barbabella mentioned that Trump’s active daily routine, which includes numerous high-level meetings and regular physical activity, contributes positively to his overall well-being. He described the president’s cognitive and physical abilities as “excellent.”
“He is fully qualified to carry out all the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” Barbavera added.
The examination involved various diagnostic studies, lab tests, and consultations with 22 different medical specialists.
As Trump approaches his 80th birthday in June, he stands at 75 inches tall and weighs 238 pounds. His resting heart rate is measured at 73 beats per minute, with a blood pressure reading of 105/71 mmHg, and oxygen saturation at 98% while breathing room air.
While the report confirmed no major health issues, it did mention a scar from a gunshot wound on Trump’s right ear, a result of an assassination attempt in 2024. Additionally, doctors noted some mild swelling in his lower legs, which he indicated had improved since the previous year.
Barbabella explained that Trump’s bruises on his hands are likely from frequent handshakes, exacerbated by his use of aspirin for cardiovascular health. They found no significant abnormalities in any of his test results.
Interestingly, the memo highlighted Trump’s lifelong abstinence from tobacco and alcohol, which is notable in today’s context. Currently, he is on three medications: rosuvastatin and ezetimibe for managing cholesterol, along with aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
