Spencer Pratt’s Campaign Visit on Election Day
On Election Day, Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt chose to spend some time at Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, a much-loved local eatery, as voters made their way to the polls for the city’s primary election.
Pratt first gained notoriety alongside his wife, Heidi Montag, on the MTV reality show “The Hills.” This year, he switched gears and decided to run for mayor of Los Angeles as a registered Republican but participated in the open primary as an independent candidate.
After enjoying a meal at the restaurant, Pratt expressed his appreciation for the food and compared his experience to that of the incumbent Democratic Mayor Karen Bass, who had recently visited another Roscoe’s location. “Oh, it was unbelievable,” he shared with Fox News Digital. “We went to the real Roscoe’s in Los Angeles.”
In a slightly teasing tone, he added, “I saw Mayor Bass enjoying another Roscoe’s. Still delicious. But I don’t think she ate anything. I think she just drank a soda and took pictures. I wanted to really experience LA City Roscoe’s.”
When asked what he ordered, Pratt enthusiastically replied, “I had waffles and chicken. It was unbelievably delicious.”
Roscoe’s House of Chicken and Waffles, established in 1975, holds an iconic spot in Los Angeles, famous for its unique combination of fried chicken and waffles, as well as its cultural significance. The restaurant frequently draws in locals, celebrities, athletes, and even politicians.
Pratt decided to run for mayor after losing his Pacific Palisades home during the wildfires in 2025. He has been vocal in his criticism of both Bass and city leadership, focusing his campaign on issues like public safety, homelessness, wildfire preparedness, and holding the government accountable.
While speaking outside Roscoe’s, Pratt emphasized his message of law and order, pledging to improve the city’s safety. “What am I doing on day one? We start making our streets safe again,” he stated. He cautioned that it would take some time, saying, “But once everyone is alerted, we’re going to enforce all the laws to make sure everyone feels safe on the streets, because right now no one feels safe.”
Initially thought to be more of a celebrity candidate, Pratt has captured attention through his social media efforts, engaging campaign ads, memorable debate performances, and a message that resonates with those frustrated by the challenges facing the city, especially after the destructive wildfires of the previous year.
