Brianna Chickenfry discusses challenging upcoming steps following emergency surgery: 'It really is tough'

A month after having emergency surgery for an organ cyst, Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia shared some updates about her ongoing struggles, which she described as a “nightmare.”

“I just had my first follow-up appointment post-surgery, and it went really well. I’m doing fine,” she said in a TikTok video on Wednesday.

However, the 26-year-old TikToker mentioned that to get a proper diagnosis of endometriosis, she would need to go through another laparoscopic surgery.

Endometriosis is characterized as “an often painful condition where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterus,” according to the Mayo Clinic.

“It’s bizarre that they didn’t conduct that test during my emergency procedure a few weeks ago,” LaPaglia remarked. “They thought they were addressing everything at once.”

She expressed her frustration over the necessity of a second surgery just to confirm the presence of the disease. “Is it really worth having another surgery? What options do I have after that? Birth control? It’s really disappointing,” she said.

LaPaglia found it odd that her doctor, despite being “amazing,” didn’t have clear answers for her.

By the end of her video, she concluded, “I don’t want to face another surgery.”

Adding to her concerns, LaPaglia mentioned that she currently doesn’t have health insurance and joked about avoiding phone calls related to her medical bills.

Last month, she opened up about her alarming experience, explaining in a TikTok video that she’d been rushed to the emergency room due to severe pain.

After dining at Taco Bell with someone she had met, she woke up in the middle of the night feeling pain and started to vomit. “I was on the bathroom floor, literally convulsing,” she recounted.

Upon her arrival at the hospital, doctors suggested her pain was due to fast food, but a vaginal ultrasound later discovered a large cyst on her ovary.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, large cysts can lead to conditions like ovarian torsion.

She was subsequently transferred via ambulance to another facility for emergency surgery.

“I had half a liter of blood in my pelvic area, which was pretty much the source of my pain,” she explained.

Previously, LaPaglia spoke highly of the man she was with at that time, commending how he managed the situation. However, she recently revealed in a TikTok video that they had ended their relationship after learning he was dating someone else.

“I’m not upset about the feelings I had, but I’m mostly angry about how I’ve been treated,” she admitted.
