Removal of Exorcist Priest Linked to UFO Comments
A Catholic priest formerly serving as an exorcist has been removed from his position.
The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., indicated that the decision followed remarks he made about UFOs and aliens in late May.
“They can do things we can’t do.”
Cardinal Robert McElroy, Archbishop of Washington, stated in a press release that Friar Stephen Rossetti, a priest from the Diocese of Syracuse, New York, will no longer be associated with the archdiocese due to his comments.
Rossetti recently shared his views in a YouTube video, expressing his belief that aliens might actually be demonic entities.
“There’s no question in my mind…that most of these UFO sightings are actually demonic,” Rossetti mentioned in a video that has since been removed.
Interestingly, Rossetti is a former Air Force intelligence officer with a six-year tenure. He described himself as a signals intelligence officer, and some profiles suggest he has a substantial background in intelligence work.
Rossetti, also a past Air Force soldier, was recognized as a “1973 Distinguished Graduate of the Air Force Academy.”
“They can accomplish feats that we cannot, in terms of speed and other abilities,” he stated in a recent recording. “They might attempt to manipulate us.”
Cardinal McElroy mentioned that Rossetti’s social media activity tying “UFOs and the presence of demons” poses a serious challenge to the Church’s teachings about the devil, demons, and exorcism.
In a press release, Rossetti expressed his sadness over this decision and extended an apology if he had strayed from the Church’s teachings.
“I prioritize obedience to the Church and will persist in striving to adhere to its teachings,” he added.
The context of these comments comes amid a wave of UFO disclosures, including various government documents unveiling reports of unknown flying objects, sometimes described as “glowing orbs.”
Representative Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) has notably been vocal about claims surrounding aliens and UFOs/UAPs, asserting that the existence of extraterrestrial aircraft, life forms, and even hybrid programs involving humans has been validated.
