Incident at Ohio Amusement Park
An 18-year-old man was arrested for allegedly forcing a transgender individual to wear his pants at an amusement park in Ohio.
Marquez Williams is under review for his actions that took place on May 26 at Cedar Point Park in Sandusky. Six Flags has expressed disapproval of the incident.
The victim reported to the police that she felt specifically targeted because she identifies as transgender.
According to Sandusky police, Williams approached the victim and pulled down her skirt and underwear, exposing her in front of bystanders, including children. Some witnesses claimed Williams recorded the incident while laughing as he fled the scene.
A friend of the victim pursued him into the parking lot.
When police arrived, Williams resisted arrest and was subdued with significant force, including the use of a stun gun.
The victim reiterated her belief that Williams targeted her solely because of her transgender identity.
Williams received medical treatment for injuries he sustained during his arrest. He was initially charged with several misdemeanors including resisting arrest and indecent exposure. The obscenity charge was eventually dropped, but a theft charge was added.
He paid 10% of his $8,000 bail and was released that same night. Williams maintains his innocence regarding the charges.
The judge imposed a restriction preventing him from approaching the victim and banned him from all Six Flags properties.
It was later confirmed that Williams attended his high school graduation just a week after his release.
A Cedar Point spokesperson stated that the park maintains a family-friendly environment and does not tolerate inappropriate behavior, reinforcing the ban on Williams’ future visits.
