Iran Warns of Further Attacks After U.S. Airstrikes: ‘Depart if You Seek Safety’

Iran Dispatches Negotiators to Qatar, Claiming U.S. Demands Are 'Too Much'

Iran Issues Warning as Tensions with the U.S. Escalate

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, sent a strong message on Tuesday, suggesting that U.S. forces ought to depart from the Middle East “if we want to protect our security.” This warning comes in light of the Pentagon’s confirmation of extensive airstrikes on Iranian military installations on the same day.

Reports indicate that President Trump has authorized strikes against Iranian troops following the downing of an American AH-64 Apache helicopter on Monday. Although the helicopter’s pilots were successfully rescued without casualties, Trump has emphasized that attacks on American personnel will provoke a serious response.

“I think it’s crucial we take action. They shot down a helicopter, and we are, in fact, responding right now,” Trump stated during an ABC News interview on Tuesday. He further underlined that this would be a powerful and significant reaction to the Iranian action.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees military operations in the region, announced late Monday that it had executed “a self-defense strike against Iran,” linking it directly to the earlier helicopter incident. The strikes purportedly targeted Iranian air defense systems and surveillance facilities near the Strait of Hormuz, utilizing precision-guided munitions from U.S. airborne forces.

Araghchi expressed outrage over the U.S. retaliation, alluding to “battlefield defeats” suffered by American forces and implying that more American lives could be at stake. He stated, “Our powerful military will not allow any attack or threat to go unanswered. If you want to ensure your safety, it would be wise to leave this region.”

Additionally, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Bakuei told reporters that Tehran is prepared to defend itself rigorously when necessary. He hinted that Iran might reconsider its ongoing peace negotiations with the United States as hostilities escalate.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), designated as a terrorist organization by the U.S., claimed to have executed various strikes targeting U.S. positions in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain on Wednesday night in retaliation for American actions. Reports indicated that 21 U.S. military bases in these countries were targeted without reported damage from the bombings.

Officials in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait confirmed that they activated their air defense systems to intercept incoming threats, with no reported casualties or damage so far. Nevertheless, Iranian authorities claimed significant success in striking U.S. positions, asserting that their missiles hit a substantial percentage of intended targets.

The IRGC announced that an American MQ-9 drone was downed during an engagement over southern Iran and that they successfully targeted strategic locations using long-range missiles.

Since the onset of military hostilities on February 28, following President Trump’s initiation of Operation Epic Fury, the conflict has evolved significantly. This operation aimed to lessen Iran’s influence and included highly publicized attacks on key Iranian leadership figures.

A temporary ceasefire was established in April after Trump called for negotiations to broaden the peace agreement. However, ongoing tensions, particularly with Israel’s military actions in Lebanon, have complicated the situation. Iran has retaliated with missile launches targeting Israel in response to Israeli strikes against Hezbollah.

Despite Trump’s reluctance to acknowledge these hostilities, Iranian officials continue to hold the U.S. accountable. They have claimed that the actions of the U.S. and Israel cannot be separated, emphasizing that any propaganda to the contrary is misleading.

In a quick turn of events, the Revolutionary Guards attacked an American Apache helicopter, highlighting the volatile state of affairs.
