Landon Donovan’s New Look Ahead of World Cup
Even though Landon Donovan’s playing days are behind him, the former star of the U.S. men’s national soccer team is generating buzz with his fresh hairstyle as the USA prepares for its 2026 World Cup match against Paraguay on June 12.
In previous discussions, Donovan has candidly shared his struggles with hair loss. Back in October, he took to social media to document a moment where he was shaving his head and fitting on a hairpiece.
In an October post, he mentioned, “After years of trying different methods, I finally decided to try a hairpiece. Your messages have encouraged me over the past few days. It has helped me to be vulnerable and open about my experiences and process. Thank you for all the messages of support!”
Fast forward to June, and Donovan finds himself in Los Angeles for Team USA’s World Cup opener. He shared a selfie video on X, expressing his excitement: “It’s hours away from America-Paraguay here in Los Angeles. I can’t wait, let’s go!”
His new hairstyle was clearly visible in the video and has quickly sparked conversation online.
Fans have largely reacted positively to Donovan’s hair transformation, recognizing the bravery it took for him to share this aspect of his life.
Hailing from Ontario, California, Donovan has been a standout player for Team USA for over ten years, with 157 international appearances. Now, he’s successfully moved into an analyst position, but it’s his hair journey that’s grabbing the most attention these days.
