Stephen A. Smith claims Trump is more alert than Biden

Stephen A. Smith Comments on Trump vs. Biden

On Sunday, Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on President Donald Trump, suggesting that Trump stands out as “a class” above former President Joe Biden amid their ongoing feud.

Smith reflected on a previous exchange between himself and Trump regarding the president’s attendance at Game 3 of the NBA Finals, held at Madison Square Garden in honor of the New York Knicks. Despite their disagreements—including Trump’s earlier remark about falling asleep during a Knicks game—Smith asserted that Trump is “a class higher” than Biden when it comes to being sharp-minded.

While Smith did express concern over Trump’s recent behavior, he avoided outright criticisms. “I don’t know anyone who associates the word ‘sharp’ with that,” he noted, yet he acknowledged that Trump was undoubtedly more alert than Biden. “He’s definitely an upgrade from what we’ve seen from Joe Biden in terms of his vigilance,” he stated, reaffirming that he had no intention of insulting the president.

Smith mentioned that he would happily discuss Trump’s controversial statements about his own intelligence. “If he wants to sit there and talk about people questioning my IQ, why not debate the decisions he’s made?” he said, emphasizing his willingness to engage directly with Trump.

In response to Smith’s remarks, the White House pointed to Trump’s post on Truth Social, where he labeled Smith as an “arrogant idiot with a low IQ.” Trump criticized Smith for his previous comments and expressed doubt regarding Smith’s qualifications for higher office. “You need a high IQ. I don’t know if Stephen has it,” Trump remarked.

The back-and-forth between Smith and Trump intensified when Smith labeled Trump’s decision to attend the game as “selfish” and “narcissistic,” following the Knicks’ defeat against the San Antonio Spurs. Smith charged that Trump’s presence had undermined the team’s performance.

Despite these tensions, Smith seemed to put the feud aside after the Knicks won the championship for the first time in 53 years. “I don’t care about politics or anything like that,” he said enthusiastically. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life, and nothing is going to stand in the way of that,” he concluded, clearly elated by the victory.
